Congratulations to our Alliance Captain Tony Wilkins and the rest for our Alliance squad in finishing as Runners up in Division one.
Great credit to the squad plus a big shout for Tony Wilkins who scored a hole in one in the last game. Also pictured below is Paul Richards who won the seasons best individual trophy

17-24 League Result Harborne Church Farm
A Brilliant effort from the boys in our final league game beating Pype Hayes to win the league.
What a great way to finish the season! Boldmere came 1st with 151 points , just pipping Pype Hayes, who finished on 149 points.
It was a really close encounter because we were both going into today’s game on the same points, knowing that whoever finished ahead of the other would secure promotion. So there was plenty riding on the result, which made it a great game and a fantastic way to finish the season winning by 1 point.
A special thank you to Tony Wilkins, Steve Deakin and John Gibbons for stepping in at the last minute and helping achieve our victory.
I’d also like to thank everyone who played throughout the season and contributed to what has been a brilliant team effort.
Everyone who represented Boldmere has played their part, and together we’ve achieved something really special.

17-24 Captain ⛳️
17 to 24 Captains Cup at Warley Woods
Luke Draisey was runner up in the end of season captains jubilee at Warley Woods on 26th September. They also collected the league winners keepsakes from the league.
What a great day at Orpington Golf Club down south 27th September. Competing for the Mytime annual Dennis Barkley Trophy
A massive thank you to David Price for driving and getting the team down there safely.
Unfortunately, we didn’t quite manage to get our hands on the trophy finishing joint 2nd on 93 Stableford points with a the winners Bromley taking the honours with 98 pts. 👍⛳
Pro-Am 2026
The club boasts the oldest Pro-Am event in Europe, with top professionals joining the competition since 1952. Our 72nd was a great success and our 73rd was held on Sunday 16th August, a great day was had by all. Made possible by our main sponsors Skirting Boards Direct. Thanks to our guest Professionals for both playing, and giving hole prizes and raffle prizes, including 4 balls and golf gear - also Jason Knowles for giving a 4 ball at the PGA for nearest the pin on the 18th hole. Also many others who gave great prizes for hole prizes (detailed in the programme) and importantly for the Captains charity raffle, which we raised £600 for the Sutton Cancer Support Centre.

Dave Hubball retires from Boldmere
Dave started at Boldmere in 1988 as an apprentice he has worked so hard to give us a lovely course and greens to play on. His dedication, commitment and work ethic will be sadly missed
A Card, Cash Gift and voucher were presented to Dave after the Club Championship. Such a gentleman he asked that “ the collection goes to charities you support as a club, doing this means the world to me and thank you each and everyone one for making the day special.”

2026 Club Championship
The annual 36 hole club championship in its current form started in 1953 and has run annually since. This years Club Champion is Jack Earl with the trophy, Also Paul Richards with his shield as the net champion.
Dave Leigh was gross runner up and Mario Leone the net runner up.
David Price won the nearest the pin 1st round and Steve Rees nearest the pin on the 2nd round, winning a 4 ball at Shirley GC.
Well done to the winners and all those that took part in a great competition.
In addition to the golf an amount in excess of £400 was raised for the Sutton Cancer support Centre. Thanks to Dave Hubball for his generous donation and to all those who supported the nearest the pin and scratch cards.

Supporting Charity
Sutton Cancer Support Centre
Our previous Club Captain Jag Kedra raised a fantastic total of £2,000 for the Sutton Cancer Support Centre. Mick is continuing with this great cause, see the club championship for amount raised there.
Its a great tradition in the club and the previous 2 Captains were proud to support Birmingham Children’s Hospital. From April 22 they raised £5,921 for this charity.

Lowest round of 56
In 2010 R.Bardesley from Moor Hall Golf Club scored a 7 under par, off the white tees. This still stands as the lowest round at Boldmere.
Par for the course
The course measures 4371 yards off the white tees (par 63), 4.083 off the yellow tees (par 62) and 3802 yards off the Ladies Red Tees (par 66). Boldmere is a short yet challenging course with a number of tricky par 3’s. A new winter blue course of 3838 yards has recently been introduced for all golfers.

Boldmere Golf Club was originally established as a 9 hole course in 1936. The additional 9 holes were designed by Carl Bretherton and added in 1972.
